Japan Network Engineers Association conducts Python and network automation certification

The Japan Network Engineers Association announced on August 18 that it will implement a Python and network automation basic test from August 2021. In conducting the test, the association will welcome Manabu Terada as a Python advisor. Mr. Terada is in charge of formulating the scope of questions for the exam and reviewing the exam questions.

Mr. Tadashi Yoshimasa, the representative director of the association, said the following about the background that led to the implementation of the test.

日本ネットワーク技術者協会、Pythonとネットワークの自動化検定実施

"The number of Python network-related job openings is 40% of all Python jobs. Despite the recent trend of further growth, there are not enough network-related Python books and schools. , When network engineers start learning Python, it is necessary to have an environment where they can learn with awareness of Pythonic, PythonZen, etc. Therefore, in order to create an environment where network engineers can learn correct Python efficiently , launches automated testing of Python and networks"

The exam consists of two grades: "Python and Network Automation Fundamental Examination" and "Python and Network Automation Practical Examination".

The “basic test” is mainly aimed at network engineers who are in their third year of assignment and are in charge of building and operating network automation. ", "Command execution in subprocess", "How to use various libraries", etc.

The Practical Exam is mainly intended for those who have experience in network automation construction and operation, and the scope of questions is currently being formulated. We plan to conduct a beta test of the “basic test” in the spring of 2022, and a full-scale test in August of the same year.
